JINDALEE PARK N' RIDE - LANDSCAPE

Guymer Bailey provided the landscape framework for the new Park and Ride bus facility at Jindalee through the implementation of a planting strategy, which incorporated feature trees, car park shade trees, low maintenance gardens, and bioretention basins planted with appropriate wetland species.

To increase user safety low groundcover planting has been used as understorey planting, instead of larger, bushy shrubs to ensure clear lines of sight in accordance with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.

To strengthen the socio-cultural functionality of the new Park and Ride facility, it also features the ‘Flood Marker’, a sculptural representation of community members helping one another during the 2011 Brisbane floods crisis. The figures have been constructed from layered laser-cut steel panels to achieve a silhouette effect.
