On Friday morning, the Sunshine Coast's iconic Eumundi Markets upgrade was officially opened by Mayor Mark Jamieson.
A joint initiative by Eumundi community organisations and the Sunshine Coast Council, Guymer Bailey Landscape was engaged to redesign the 'terraces' section of the premises to improve safety and the overall market experience.
Amidst the challenging ground levels and existing trees and services, Guymer Bailey Landscape delivered a solution that was accessible, safe, durable and low maintenance, whilst keeping with the high profile tourist destination.
Facts about the project:
The Terraces are part of the overall Eumundi Markets which is the biggest art and craft market in Australia
The Terraces comprises 157 of the total 600 market stalls across the site
Annual visitation to the markets is over 1.6 million people, which is more than the number of visitors that pass through the Sunshine Coast Airport
Location: 80 Memorial Dr, Eumundi, QLD
Project Team: Rob Waddell, Amy Waddell, Chris Webb, Kate Phillips, Luke Petersen, Steven Niven and John Davies.
