ST COLUMBANS COLLEGE

Guymer Bailey Landscape was engaged by St Columban’s College Caboolture to prepare a landscape masterplan that would allow staff, students and the wider community to interact, learn and play in flexible, transparent, open and vibrant spaces. Working collaboratively with the College’s Architect, ArchCollab, we ensured a cohesive design language was achieved between the internal and external College environment.

The landscape design is experienced as a series of interconnected courtyards and landscaped spaces designed to improve teaching and outdoor learning opportunities and foster a strong sense of cultural and spiritual identity in the Edmund Rice Tradition. The masterplan enhances the College’s street presence, creates a welcoming ‘point of arrival’ for pedestrians and improves wayfinding through the campus, resulting in a landscape where the College is proud to display their house colours, charism, values, history and motto.

Grounded by the ‘Living Laudato Si’ (“Care for Our Common Home”) initiative, the masterplan creates a sense of environmental stewardship in students and the school community while minimising the environmental impact of the College.
