YARRABILBA COLLEGE MASTERPLAN

Guymer Bailey Landscape was engaged by Fulton Trotter Architects on behalf of Brisbane Catholic Education to assist with the design of the Yarrabilba Secondary Catholic College Masterplan in the priority development area of Yarrabilba in Logan City.

The masterplan creates an inspiring environment for teaching, learning, play and interaction, and supports daily school life while instilling Franciscan values. Landscape and outdoor spaces provide active and passive recreation and outdoor learning opportunities as well as places for formal and informal social interaction. Physically and visually connected to the community, the college layout prioritises people-centred design and human-scale spaces.

The material and colour selections for buildings and hardscape have a natural aesthetic, with edges and boundaries softened by landscape vegetation. Native trees will increase shade canopy cover while providing habitats for wildlife and improve the overall environmental performance of the College while reinforcing the connection to place.
