MAROOCHY MULTISPORTS REDEVELOPMENT

Located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, the Maroochydore Multi Sport Complex provides sporting facilities for the local AFL, netball and soccer clubs. To provide first-class facilities for the community and cater for the growing Women’s AFL and netball club, the Sunshine Coast Council engaged Guymer Bailey to design the new AFL building and refurbish and extend the netball building.

The new AFL building, includes change rooms, toilet facilities and a servery on the lower level, and AFLQ offices and a flexible multi-purpose area ideal for training on the upper level. Support facilities including medical rooms and a parent room have also been provided. The existing netball building has been refurbished and extended to create a new upper level that contains office spaces and a flexible multi-purpose area with excellent views over the netball courts.

To ensure the safety of users, crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) principles have been implemented throughout the site. Careful consideration has also given to the design and selection of materials to ensure the new works are long lasting and tie seamlessly into the existing complex.
